Orchestra

Guitar Ensemble

Guitar Ensemble is designed for students who have demonstrated at least a beginner level ability and have prior experience reading music for the guitar or another instrument. Students must bring their own acoustic (steel strings) or classical (nylon string) guitar. A placement appointment is required for students desiring to be part of the Guitar Ensemble.

Beginning Strings

The Beginning Strings class is for those who are new to their instrument. Placement appointments are not required. At home practice minutes are required. Beginning Strings performs at the first Winter and Spring Concerts.

Rehearsal Schedule: Monday nights, 6:00pm-7:00pm at Pennway Church, 1101 E Cavanaugh, Lansing, MI

Intermediate Strings

This class is for students who have successfully completed Beginning Strings and have little experience on their instrument. Intermediate Strings performs at the first Winter Concert and the second Spring Concert. At home practice minutes and a placement appointment are required.

Junior Orchestra

Junior Orchestra is for students who have demonstrated a significant level of musical skills. This is an advanced ensemble that performs at several concerts throughout the year, including the second Winter and Spring Concerts. They are also being trained in personal and ensemble skills necessary for participation in the Senior Orchestra. At home practice time and a placement appointment are required

Symphony Orchestra

The Symphony Orchestra is our most advanced ensemble, comprised of students and adults who are very proficient on their instruments. These students are held to the highest standards of musicianship. Symphony Orchestra performs numerous times throughout the year, including the second Winter Concert and third Spring Concert. Placement appointments and at home practice times are required.
